Alright, let's do this!
1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? I'll be 4 DA years old this month
2. What does your username mean?Well, I decided to be all mature and boring about it a while back, so now it's just my name 3. Describe yourself in three words.Ambitious lazy chameleon
4. Are you left or right handed?
Ambidextrous, actually. And yes, I do use it as a party trick
which means I could totally lose an arm and still manage to brush my teeth woo 5. What was your first deviation?
This lovely Greek sunset, which is, strangely, still among my most viewed artworks:
6. What is your favourite type of art to create? The kind that makes me lose track of time, sleep and food. Which is to say, any type of art I feel like doing at the moment.
7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?I don't think I'd like instant mastery, since a big part of what I enjoy about art is seeing your journey and progress along the way. That said, I wouldn't mind speeding up my progress in
digital painting and
portrait photography.8. What was your first favourite?
This amazing infrared shot of a cherry tree:
9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?I find myself really drawn to:
beautifully edited, atmospheric nature/travel photography
majestic, engrossing fantasy landscapes/matte paintings
emotive, beautifully drawn character portraits from my favourite shows/books/movies
and overall: intriguing compositions, vivid colour contrasts and unique perspectives
10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?I have so many amazing artists in my watchlist that I can't really choose a single one. And yes, I'm aware how PC that sounds, but each artist has a unique perspective that I appreciate for entirely different reasons.
11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?The photojournalists, the travelers and the artists who didn't quit, no matter what. They have the best stories.
12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? Each and every person who has commented on my art, whether critically or not, has shaped me in one way or another. I gained so much confidence as an artist simply from seeing people enjoy and pay attention to what I'm trying to do.
13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
My camera, my Wacom tablet and my brain.
14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
It's not really a place, more like a 'zone': a state of mind in which I feel inspired to create, to see, to feel. Being in nature is also a great incentive, as is traveling to new places
15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
As many other artists, I think receiving a DD was my most uplifting and happy memory on DA (especially when it came during a time when I was feeling particularly dejected).
Well, this went from silly to introspective fast
Even though I'm not as active as I'd like to be, I'll keep improving and evolving in my journey, and I hope DA does the same.
Now let's go do stuff!
